The National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) of Japan announced an experiment plan to try multicast interconnectivity between the production network and other networks from February 8 to 28.

The experiment will use JGN2, a testbed network operated by NICT, to connect and transfer HDTV materials among “Sapporo Snow Festival” in Sapporo, two spring training camps for professional baseball teams in Okinawa and Kochi prefectures, seven TV stations all over Japan, and an overseas location (in Thailand).
