On February 23, the announcement was made by NTT East that IPv6 addresses will be allocated to all B FLET'S subscriber lines in view of future new service expansion. New subscriber lines added from February 24 will be the ones to have IPv6 addresses, followed by existing users to whom IPv6 addresses will be allocated when necessary preparation is done.

On January 18, NTT Group started accepting applications from the general public to participate in NGN Field Trial. The trial spans from April to December 2007, and requires approximately 600 trial users for NTT East and 100 for NTT West. The experimental users do not need to pay for the services, equipments, and installations related to the trial, but will be charged for the communication using the IP phone and video phone.
