NTT Communications announced that "MultiPolicy VPN for OCN" will be available from August 24. This new service allows encrypted communication for each group/end device, which has been difficult with a conventional VPN service. The key enabler is NTT Com's own m2m-x technology which capitalizes on IPv6.
"MultiPolicy VPN for OCN" enables sophisticated set up and management between end devices on the Internet. Encryption between end devices is possible because it uses dedicated encryption device (CPE) which provides IPv6 addresses to devices connected to it.
In addition, the "Policy Management Server" within NTT Communications network offers automatic encryption and set up for VPNs, allowing on-demand set up changes.
