NTT West will expand their fiber optic connection service "FLET'S Hikari Premium" with an "EnterpriseType" connection service capable of 1 Gbps for business customers starting from August 25.
FLET'S Hikari Premium is a fiber optic IP-based connection service that uses regional IP networks built with IPv6. The EnterpriseType service will provide a 1 Gbps connection all the way from the NTT West facility to the user's network by using a client-side CTU (Customer Network Terminating Unit) interface that supports a 1 Gbps connection.
According to NTT West, when only IPv6 is used, the service is capable of providing 1 Gbps; when IPv4 is used, the speed becomes 400 Mbps.
