Root Inc. announced that the joint project with NORTH (Network Organization for Research and Technology in Hokkaido, an NPO) was selected in Strategic Information and Communications R&D Promotion Programme for 2006 under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
The purpose of this joint project is to solve issues unique to Hokkaido, such as a very long distance between cities, slow penetration of broadband, and lower reliability of networks.
The project aims to materialize VGN (Virtual Global Network) for regional medicine to offer safety and security for the people with research on IPv6 end-to-end multi-homing protocol as well as creating a test bed for verification tests.
